Three-time Emmy nominee Billy Eichner is ready to fall in love.

The 40-year-old comedian will write and star in a new romantic-comedy.

The still untitled project is set up at Universal. It will be co-produced by Nick Stoller and Judd Apatow under their respective banners Global Solutions and Apatow Productions. Stoller will will also direct from a screenplay co-written by himself and Eichner.

Despite being in early stages of development it is known that the gay rom-com will center around two men who have commitment problems who decide to make a go at a relationship with each other.

Eichner tweeted Tuesday “Excited, terrified, completely in shock and PROUD as hell to announce this movie. We’re making a big, new romantic comedy for Universal!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!”

The response to a major Hollywood studio making a rom-com about two men has been incredibly positive. Eichner retweeted a fan’s response, writing, “Well I hate when people say ‘my heart is full’ but my heart is f—ing full,” Eichner wrote. “Don’t worry, it won’t last.”

Eichner is currently developing his first comedy special for Netflix. His other credits include American Horror Story, Friends from College and Billy on the Street. His upcoming projects include Jon Favreau’s The Lion King and Noelle.
