“Bad Boys for Life” Sets International Box Office Records

The Will Smith and Martin Lawrence led third installment in the Bad Boys franchise has taken the top spot in the international box office for the third week in a row.

Bad Boys for Life is also the highest-grossing installment in the action-comedy series and it’s made over $291 million globally surpassing the previous installment 2003’s Bad Boys II which made $271 million and the 1995 Bad Boys which brought in $141 million worldwide.

This past weekend, Bad Boys for Life made 30.8 million and it’s about Detective Mike Lowrey (Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Lawrence) trying to take down the head of the drug cartel, Amando Armas (Jacob Scipio), along with the Miami PD’s elite AMMO team. Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Charles Melton, Paola Nunez, Kate Del Castillo, and Nicky Jam also star in the film.

In other box office news, Lionsgate’s Knives Out has almost hit the $300 million mark. 1917 is the second highest-grossing film this past weekend and it brought in $20.9 million on top of the $249 million it’s made worldwide. Taking the third spot is Dolittle, which earned another 17.7 million, adding to the $126 million it’s made to date.
