It’s been a few years since we’ve seen Anya Taylor-Joy lead a major TV series, and she’s finally ready to return to our small screens. Furiosa star will join forces with Netflix for the adaptation of Bella Mackie’s bestselling novel How to Kill Your Family.

Taylor-Joy will lead this series as Grace Bernard, the illegitimate daughter of a ruthless billionaire who ignored her mother’s pleas for help, even on her deathbed. Following her mother’s passing, Grace decides to seek revenge by using morbidly creative means to kill every member of her father’s family.

How to Kill Your Family author Bella Mackie is coming on board as one of the executive producers alongside Taylor-Joy and lead writer Emma Moran, and she’s confident her book is in safe hands.

“It’s been thrilling to watch the characters I wrote take on new life under this magnificent creative team. Anya is the most perfect fit to play Grace: I often think she understands her better than I do,” said Mackie in a statement.

This series will mark Taylor Joy’s first collaboration with Netflix since her Golden Globe-winning role in The Queen’s Gambit. She went on to become one of Hollywood’s biggest young stars in the wake of its success, and we’ve most recently seen her star in blockbusters Dune: Part Two and Furiosa.
