Amy Adams starred in some pretty wild movies over the years, but none of them compares to her next project. The first trailer for her new horror comedy is making the rounds online, and it sees the six-time Oscar nominee embracing her canine side.
Inspired by Rachel Yoder’s hit novel Nightb—-, Adams’ new film sees her play a stay-at-home mom who put her career as an artist on pause to raise a toddler in the suburbs. As she struggles to adjust to the demands of motherhood, the bizarre signs that she’s turning into a dog force her to embrace her feral power.
Adams leads the cast of this horror comedy directed by Marielle Heller, the mastermind behind acclaimed films Can You Ever Forgive Me? and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. Scoot MacNairy, Mary Holland, Jessica Harper, Zoë Chao, Ella Thomas, Stacey Swift, Archana Rajan, Adrienne Rose White, Darius De La Cruiz, and Roslyn Gentle also star.
Hulu was originally planning to only give the movie a streaming release, but Searchlight Pictures eventually decided to bring it to theatres on December 6. It will have its world premiere on September 7 at the Toronto International Film Festival, where Amy Adams will be honored with the TIFF Tribute Performer Award.
