The TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s seminal novel American Gods went through many changes since premiering on Starz, and its ending is almost here. The show will conclude with the third season, with the potential of wrapping up the story with a TV movie.

The finale of the third season of American Gods premiered on March 21, and Starz representatives confirmed it will serve as the final chapter of this story.

“Everyone at Starz is grateful to the dedicated cast and crew, and our partners at Fremantle who brought author and executive producer Neil Gaiman’s ever-relevant story to life that speaks to the cultural climate of our country,” said Starz spokesperson in an official statement.

According to Deadline, there’s a chance of the series being concluded with a TV movie to align with Gaiman’s novel. Nothing is official just yet, especially since American Gods experienced a significant dip in ratings since its premiere in 2017.

The series starred Ricky Whittle and Ian McShane and centered on recently released ex-con Shadow whose life turns upside down after he meets a mysterious man who calls himself Wednesday.
