It is no surprise that Netflix’s original series 13 Reasons Why has been renewed for a second season. Here is everything we know about the upcoming season so far.
Release date:
There is still no confirmed release date for season two, but we know that it will be out this year. A rumor suggested that it will be out in June, as the initial release date was going to be May, but was pushed back as a result of “certain current events.”
Trailer:
There is no trailer yet, but you can watch the announcement clip from last year below.
Where the season starts:
Season 2 will kick off after a time-jump. Dylan Minnette, who plays Clay in the show told Yahoo:
“There’s a time jump. Season 2 is a couple months after season 1, and there’s a lot that’s happened to Clay in between. You’re playing catch-up when you start, and you see where Clay’s at.”
He added: “Clay’s trying to live his life … but I think Hannah, his life with her, and everything with the tapes, is the biggest thing that’s ever happened to him, and I don’t think he’ll ever be able to escape it, no matter how hard he tries.”
New characters:
Anne Winters, who appeared in the TV shows Wicked City and Tyrant, will play the new head cheerleader, Chloe. Chelsea Alden, who appeared in American Horror Story: Roanoake, will play newcomer Cyrus’ (Bryce Cass) artsy sister, Mackenzie. There will be several other newcomers including Ben Lawson and Kelli O’Hara.
