It looks like everything is going to look a little different when Younger returns for season six.
While its seems that everyone is finally getting everything they always wanted, no one seems particularly happy.
At the end of Season Five, Liza (Sutton Foster) and Charles (Peter Hermann) can finally live out in the open as an officially romantic couple linked, but there’s this whole thing of facing the reality of Charles stepping down from his role as publisher at his company for them to do so.
“There’s definitely tension,” says Foster. “Charles isn’t just at home in his PJs eating bonbons. He’s basically where Liza was in season one, having nothing and trying to re-establish himself. He’s finding his way back in, but of course that affects his relationship with Liza.”
As to the show’s other unlikely couple, Diana (Miriam Shor) and Enzo (Chris Tardio), they too have to navigate life after their very public embrace in last season’s finale.
Shor promises developments on the Diana-Enzo front in season six saying, “Enzo is so sweet and lovable, but he’s not dumb; he gets Diana. I just love that someone accepts her on her own terms and calls her out, for sure.”
