Watch the First Trailer for the Next “Fast & Furious”

Vin Diesel in the "Fast & Furious 9" trailer

There’s nothing like holding an entire concert to debut the trailer for the forthcoming installment of the Fast & the Furious franchise.

The clip was unveiled during a concert featuring Ludacris and other artists, including Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, at Miami, Florida, on Friday. The trailer was also streamed live to fans on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

The official trailer features Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto saying, “Now that I’m a father, I can’t live my life a quarter-mile at a time anymore.” But the situation quickly turns ominous, as Michelle Rodriguez’s Letty gifts their son with a necklace and says “it’s for protection — from what’s coming.”

Also starring in F9 are Ludacris, Charlize Theron, Michael Rooker, John Cena, and Helen Mirren, while two of the franchise’s stars — The Rock and Jason Statham will not returning.

F9 hits theaters on May 22.
