It’s time to meet a new kind of superhero.
Netflix has dropped the first official trailer for Raising Dion. The series based on the comic book by Dennis Liu is executive produced by Michael B. Jordan, who also stars in the series alongside Alisha Wainwright, Ja’Siah Young, and Jason Ritter.
“Raising Dion follows the story of a woman named Nicole (Wainwright), who raises her son Dion (Young) after the death of her husband, Mark (Jordan). The normal dramas of raising a son as a single mom are amplified when Dion starts to manifest several mysterious, superhero-like abilities. Nicole must now keep her son’s gifts secret with the help of Mark’s best friend Pat (Ritter), and protect Dion from antagonists out to exploit him while figuring out the origin of his abilities.”
Raising Dion also stars Jazmyn Simon as Nicole’s sister Kat, who’s described as “a wonderful and supportive aunt and sister, but has a hard time biting her tongue as she watches her sister make mistakes.”
Raising Dion is set to premiere on October 4.
