Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. are currently working on expending their MonsterVerse series, and they’re doing it by putting two of cinema’s most iconic monsters in the ring. The first full trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong is here and it centers on a showdown between the titular monsters.
According to the official logline released by the two studios, “humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages.”
Godzilla vs. Kong serves as the sequel to both Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Kong: Skull Island. Several stars from the previous two movies, including Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler, will reprise their roles, but the cast also consists of many newcomers to the franchise, including Alexander Skarsgård, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Eiza González.
Godzilla vs. Kong is set to premiere in theaters on March 26th, but it will also be simultaneously released on HBO Max like the rest of the movies from Warner Bros.’ 2021 slate.
