Avengers: Infinity War saw just about every Marvel character under the sun reunite for the most epic battle yet. One character though did not return and has said he won’t be returning to Avengers: Endgame either.

The character is Prof. Erik Selvig, who hasn’t appeared since Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Actor Stellan Skarsgård told Metro: “No, I’m not (in Endgame). I’ve done four (MCU movies) and they have contracted for five, and they haven’t called me yet. They usually call me when they need some weird plot to be explained in a quasi-scientific way.

“I thought it was a one-time thing, but the contract said if they wanted me they could use me for five films, but I didn’t think they’d use me for four so it was a surprise. It was a pleasant surprise because I’ve had a lot of fun on those shoots.”

Even if he says he is not in the upcoming Avengers movie, we can’t be sure that he is telling the truth. After all, the MCU producers are notorious for keeping spoilers locked up so if he was to make a return appearance, it would most likely be kept hush anyway.

Either way, we don’t have long to find out now. Avengers: Endgame will be in cinemas in April 24. Eek.
