“The Nanny” Musical Is in the Works for Broadway

Nanny Fine is heading to Broadway! 

The ’90s sitcom The Nanny is getting a Broadway musical makeover from series star Fran Drescher and original series co-creator Peter Marc Jacobson. 

The duo confirmed the news Wednesday. 

“We are SO excited to be working on the Broadway musical The Nanny,” they said in a joint statement. “Nobody is cast yet — we’re plotting — but we feel confident we will find a fabulous actress who is funny, charming, and has a great voice,” they added.

According to Entertainment Weekly Drescher and Jacobson will co-write the book, while Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend)is set to write the lyrics and co-write the music with Adam Schlesinger. Beautiful: The Carole King Musical helmed Marc Bruni will direct.
