The Handmaid’s Tale Renewed for Season 4

Elisabeth Moss in "The Handmaid's Tale"

Hulu has just picked up The Handmaid’s Tale for an additional season.

It’s official — the dystopian drama based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name, will return for a fourth season on the streaming platform.

The news was announced by Hulu during its TCA presentation on Friday.

The Emmy-winning series follows the story of life in Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was formerly part of the United States. Elisabeth Moss stars as June alongside Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Alexis Bledel, Madeline Brewer, Ann Dowd, O.T. Fagbenle, Max Minghella, and Samira Wiley.

The drama is currently airing the final episodes of its third season, which debuted in June. Season three began in the aftermath of June’s (Moss) decision to stay behind in Gilead after giving her daughter to Emily (Alexis Bledel) to take to Canada.

The Handmaid’s Tale is the most-watched show, original or acquired.
