First a 1990 TV series, then a 1995 feature film, and now a live-action series!

Netflix announced Thursday that it is brining back The Baby-Sitters Club, based on the best-selling book series by Ann M. Martin. The streaming giant ordered a 10-episode live-action reboot.

Martin, who will serve as producer on the series said in a statement, “I’m amazed that there are so many passionate fans of The Baby-Sitters Club after all these years, and I’m honored to continue to hear from readers — now grown, who have become writers, editors, teachers, librarians, filmmakers — who say that they see a reflection of themselves in the characters of Kristy and her friends. So I’m very excited about the forthcoming series on Netflix, which I hope will inspire a new generation of readers and leaders everywhere.”

The series will follow the five best friends in Stoneybrook, Connecticut, who form a babysitting business. Episodes will explore topics such as racism, divorce, school, sibling rivalries and jealousy.

The reboot will be helmed by Rachel Shukert (Supergirl and GLOW writer).
