]]>The second season of Squid Game will take place three years after the events of the first, and it will see Seong Gi-hun aka Player 456 using his newfound fortune to find the people behind the game and put an end to their vicious sport.
Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed the show will end in Season 3, which will chronicle the fierce clash between Seong Gi-hun and the Front Man.
“I am thrilled to see the seed that was planted in creating a new Squid Game grow and bear fruit through the end of this story. We’ll do our best to make sure we bring you yet another thrill ride. I hope you’re excited for what’s to come,” wrote Hwang Dong-hyuk in a statement.
Lee Jung-jae is returning in Season 2 alongside Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo, and they’ll be joined by Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an.
Season 2 of Squid Game will premiere on Netflix on December 26, followed by a third and final season in 2025.

]]>The iconic “red light, green light” doll came back to give us chills in the 10-second teaser, but she won’t be the only character returning for Season 2. The new chapter will also feature the doll’s equally deadly boyfriend Cheol-su. The show’s creator, writer, director, and executive producer Hwang Dong-Hyuk confirmed that we’ll also be reunited with the Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) and the masked villain the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun).
In a statement confirming the show’s renewal, Dong-Hyuk gave a shout-out to fans around the world for watching and loving the show and invited them to join him once more for a whole new round.
The first season of Squid Game centered on a group of people in deep financial hardship, who agree to take part in a series of deadly children’s games for a chance to win a life-changing prize. Following its premiere in September last year, it went on to become the streamer’s most-watched series to date, with 1.65 billion viewing hours in the first 28 days on the platform.

]]>CODA pulled the night’s biggest upset in the ceremony’s main category—the outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture. It managed to beat Belfast, Don’t Look Up, The House of Gucci, and King Richard to walk away with this prestigious award.
Its star Troy Kotsur was crowned as the best supporting actor, and he was in pretty good company. Will Smith was named best actor for his performance in King Richard, Jessica Chastain picked up the trophy for best actress for The Eyes of Tammy Faye, while Ariana DeBose was rewarded for her supporting turn in West Side Story.
The TV categories were much easier to call, with front-runners Succession and Ted Lasso taking awards for the best acting ensemble in their respective categories. Netflix smash hit Squid Game also had a big night, winning three awards—best actor and actress in a drama (Lee Jung-jae and Jung Ho-Yeon), and best stunt ensemble.
The 28th Screen Actors Guild Awards were presented at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on February 27th.
