Squid Game grew into such an enormous global hit that Netflix couldn’t wait to renew it for Season 2 – and they finally made things official. The streaming giant dropped an eerie teaser, confirming that the record-breaking Korean survival drama is returning for another ride.

The iconic “red light, green light” doll came back to give us chills in the 10-second teaser, but she won’t be the only character returning for Season 2. The new chapter will also feature the doll’s equally deadly boyfriend Cheol-su. The show’s creator, writer, director, and executive producer Hwang Dong-Hyuk confirmed that we’ll also be reunited with the Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) and the masked villain the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun).

In a statement confirming the show’s renewal, Dong-Hyuk gave a shout-out to fans around the world for watching and loving the show and invited them to join him once more for a whole new round.

The first season of Squid Game centered on a group of people in deep financial hardship, who agree to take part in a series of deadly children’s games for a chance to win a life-changing prize. Following its premiere in September last year, it went on to become the streamer’s most-watched series to date, with 1.65 billion viewing hours in the first 28 days on the platform.
