I’m proud of the work we did, but everything happens for a reason. I am excited about what the future holds.”
Showrunner Kagiso Lediga echoed her statement, and described Queen Sono as “another casualty of 2020”, hinting it was canceled due to the production challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Netflix previously canceled several other shows for the same reason, including GLOW, The Society, and I Am Not Okay with This.

]]>The cancelation of the horror drama series by Netflix was confirmed by the creator, writer, and executive producer of the series, Dennis Heaton.
Heaton took to Twitter Friday night writing, “For two seasons I was honored to work with an incredible cast and crew on The Order for @Netflix. It was one of the best experiences of my career. Unfortunately, we aren’t returning, but I will always cherish the memories and the props I stole. Thank you all for watching.”
The Order followed a secret society of magic scholars at the fictional Belgrave University who uncover magic-related mysteries. The show starred Jake Manley, Sarah Grey, Matt Frewer, Sam Trammell, Katharine Isabelle, and Max Martini.
The Order first premiered on the streamer in March 2019, with Season 2 of the series dropping in June.

]]>Netflix dropped the trailer for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom starring Viola Davis, Glynn Turman, Colman Domingo, Michael Potts, and the late Chadwick Boseman. The film marks Boseman’s posthumous and last performance.
The film, a part of a major deal with Netflix to turn nine of Wilson’s iconic plays into films, was penned by Ruben Santiago-Hudson and directed by George C. Wolfe.
In Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, tensions and temperatures escalate throughout the course of an afternoon recording session in 1920s Chicago.
During a press event, Davis said, “Chadwick was an artist. That’s who he was. He loved it. He demanded it in every single way. He was incredible.” Director Wolfe added, “Chadwick put his entire being into Levee. Levee demands that herculean scale of the role. He’s a phenomenal character. [Boseman] put every ounce of energy, heart, and passion [into it].”

]]>In case you missed it, the streaming giant has already dropped the sixth and final season Schitt’s Creek.
News that the series is available to streaming early was announced by series star and co-creator Dan Levy on Twitter.
“Surprise! Season 6 & the Best Wishes, Warmest Regards documentary just dropped early on Netflix! Have a great weekend!” he wrote. The show’s final season and documentary on its making were originally supposed to be released days later.
Schitt’s Creek had a huge night during the 2020 Emmys, winning the coveted Outstanding Comedy Series award. Its cast members also scored gold with Levy taking home the Outstanding Supporting Actor award.
During an interview after the awards ceremony, he said, “to be honest this is the best way we could have ever ended the show,” Levy said. “If there is an idea that pops into my head it has to be really freaking good because this is a nice way to say goodbye. Fingers crossed we get a nice idea popping into our head soon….I would love to work with these people again.”

Gentefied is set in Los Angeles and centers around three Mexican-American cousins who are trying to chase after the American Dream while the dream threatens the things they care most about which include their neighborhood, their immigrant grandfather, and the family taco shop. The series is about family, community, brown love, and displacement.
Karrie Martin, JJ Soria, Carlos Santos, and Joaquín Cosio star in the series.
Gentefied is one of the recent Netflix renewals which includes Ricky Gervais’ After Life, Locke & Key, Lost in Space, Atypical, Love Is Blind, and The Circle.

In The Starling, a married couple tries to rebuild their relationship after suffering a tragedy. After she grows a beautiful garden in their backyard, she finds herself repeatedly attacked by a starling. She then turns to a psychiatrist-turned-veterinarian with baggage all his own (Kline) who tries to help her with her bird problem and ends up making a larger impact on her life.
