Due to the ongoing Coronavirus, the final chapter of the NBC thriller, Blindspot, will premiere Thursday, April 30 and not over the summer as originally planned. 

Season five of Blindspot begins in the aftermath of the explosion that left Jane (Alexander) watching as a drone strike on the safe house with the rest of the team inside. Questions to be answered include who made it out alive and whether the team will ever be able to clear their names in the wake of Madeline’s (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) rise to power. 

Blindspot also stars Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, Ashley Johnson and Ennis Esmer.

Multiple outlets confirm that Josh Segarra has been cast in one of the lead roles in the upcoming pilot from NBC.  

The series, like the film, follows a unique mix of adults at a night school GED prep class who unexpectedly bond over their shared experience and find themselves helping each other both inside and outside of the classroom.

Segarra will portray the character played by Kevin Hart’s character in the film — a charming salesman named Teddy Walker. He joins previously announced Shanola Hampton who will play the teacher (the role played by Tiffany Haddish in the film), Collette Wolfe, James Earl, and Joe Massingill.

Segarra’s television credits include Arrow, Orange Is the New Black, The Moodys, The Other Two, Chicago PD, Sirens and the recently canceled AJ and the Queen.

Multiple outlets confirm that Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer have signed on to take part in a taped unscripted reunion special for HBO Max. 

The most famous group of friends will return the original Friends soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank. 

“Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together — we are reuniting with David, Jennifer, Courteney, Matt, Lisa, and Matthew for an HBO Max special that will be programmed alongside the entire ‘Friends’ library,” said Kevin Reilly, chief content officer at HBO Max in a statement. “I became aware of Friend’ when it was in the very early stages of development and then had the opportunity to work on the series many years later and have delighted in seeing it catch on with viewers generation after generation. Per multiple outlets, Johnson is set to appear in every episode of the series that will track The Rock’s formative years of his childhood growing up in Hawaii, Tennessee, and Connecticut.

“Those were the years that were very formative and helped shape me. The confluence of wild personalities that came in and out of my life during these times are just fascinating,” Johnson said.

According to Deadline, The Mother-In-Law centers on a woman’s complicated relationship with her husband’s family that ends in death. It’s a mystery that explores motherhood, class, race and just how dangerous family secrets can be.

Jessica Goldberg will write the adaptation with Amy Poehler executive producing alongside Kate Arend via Paper Kite Productions. Both Poehler and Goldberg will produce.
