]]>The 35-year-old Avengers: Endgame star revealed that he almost didn’t appear in the film because he was unsure about the role of Kevin.
“The night before I was shooting, I almost pulled out,” Hemsworth told Variety. “Three or four weeks prior, Paul [Feig] said to me, ‘I’m going to write up the character. Don’t worry.’ And then I got the script and nothing had changed.”
Feig the director assured Hemsworth that there’s more to the character — to be done through improvisation, an opportunity for the actor to show off his comedic talent.
“I was really scared walking onto that set,” Hemsworth added. “I had no real plan, so I was just feeding off of them, and I just felt ridiculous. So I used that.”
Hemsworth starred opposite costars Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, and Leslie Jones. The film, despite the backlash it received from fans, was a box office success, raking in $128 million at the US box office and $229 million worldwide.

]]>While this got most fans excited about the opportunity to see the some of the original main cast members – Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson – reprise their roles in Ghostbusters 3, it turns out that this might not be the case.
In a recent radio interview, Hudson discussed the project and revealed that he doesn’t know whether he will be part of this new movie.
“I don’t know. Nobody has approached me with a contract,” said Hudson. “I think the Ghostbusters fans have been wanting (a passing of the torch) dynamic to happen, so I know whatever happens is going to be in that tradition… I’m excited about that. I’d be more excited if they called me and offered me a job, but no matter what happens the fact that they’re doing it is really cool.”
So far there hasn’t been much information available on Ghostbusters 3, but we know that the movie will continue the story from the original two films, 1984’s Ghostbusters and 1989’s Ghostbusters II. The original director Ivan Reitman will serve as an executive producer, while his son Jason Reitman will direct and serve as a writer alongside Gil Kenan.
Also, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the synopsis of the film will revolve around teenagers, two boys and two girls, who will become recruits for the Ghostbusters team.
While Dan Aykroyd and now Ernie Hudson confirmed that they were not approached about reprising their roles in the movie, we could soon expect updates regarding this. In one of the recent interviews, Ivan Reitman described the project as “passing the torch,” which opens the possibility of some original cast members making a cameo appearance at least.

]]>It has been confirmed that a sequel to the cult classic is finally on its way. If you are rightly protective over the charming masterpiece of a movie, then do not fear. It will be directed by none other than Jason Reitman – aka the son of Ivan Reitman, who directed the original.
“I’ve always thought of myself as the first Ghostbusters fan, when I was a 6 years old visiting the set. I wanted to make a movie for all the other fans,” Jason Reitman told Entertainment Weekly.
“This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the ‘80s happened in the ‘80s, and this is set in the present day.”
With regards to the plot and introduction of new characters, Reitman is keeping it all very hush at the moment.
“This is very early, and I want the film to unwrap like a present,” he teased. “We have a lot of wonderful surprises and new characters for the audience to meet.”
And just to confirm, this will be a sequel of the original Ghostbusters and will have nothing to do with the 2016 all-female remake.
“I have so much respect for what Paul [Feig, the director] created with those brilliant actresses, and would love to see more stories from them. However, this new movie will follow the trajectory of the original film,” Reitman stressed.
The Ghostbusters sequel will be with us in the summer of 2020.
