]]>The Odyssey will mark Nolan’s second collaboration with Universal Pictures following the success of Oppenheimer, and the studio released an official statement dropping hints about this project. They announced it would bring Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX film screens and described it as “a mythic action epic shot across the world.”
Homer’s The Odyssey takes place in the aftermath of the Trojan War and sees the titular hero trying to find his way back home to Ithaca. He faces many obstacles on his decade-long journey, encountering such iconic mythological characters and creatures as the Cyclops, witch-goddess Circe, and the Sirens.
Christopher Nolan’s take on The Odyssey will be released by Universal on July 17, 2026. Nolan is busy rounding out the cast of this project, and several A-list stars already agreed to hop on board, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron.

]]>Just like all of Nolan’s films, his next project is surrounded by an air of mystery, and plot details are being kept under wraps. It’s rumored this project will start shooting in early 2025, and it’s set for a theatrical and IMAX release on July 17, 2026.
Nolan’s films have always attracted top-tier talent, and his next project will reportedly reunite him with the Oscar winner Anne Hathaway. She previously played Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rise and went on to appear in Nolan’s sci-fi epic Interstellar.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Hathaway expressed gratitude to Nolan for giving her “one of the most beautiful roles I’ve had in one of the best films that I’ve been a part of” during a time she was worried her career would lose its momentum because of the toxicity she faced online.
Nolan’s next film will also star Zendaya, the Emmy-winning star of HBO’s Euphoria and Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise. She starred in two of the year’s biggest films – Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two—and will next be seen opposite Robert Pattinson in The Drama.

]]>Oppenheimer chronicles the life and times of theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, drawing inspiration from the book American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. The film will look back at his time as the head of the Manhattan Project, an undertaking that led to the development of the first nuclear weapons during World War II.
Oppenheimer, who famously called himself “the destroyer of worlds”, can be heard wondering how his discovery will reflect on the rest of the human kind in the trailer’s voiceover, saying, “I don’t know if we can be trusted with such a weapon but we have no choice.”
Oppenheimer will be led by the Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy, with Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, and Kenneth Branagh in supporting roles. It will be released on July 21, 2023 by Universal Pictures.
