Production for “It 2” Has Begun

Bill Skarsgård in "It"

James McAvoy has confirmed that production for It: Chapter 2 has officially begun.

The X-Men actor posted a photo from the film set. The photo gave nothing away, showing a Dairylea triangle with himself in the background.

McAvoy will be taking on the role of the grown up version of Bill, who was the star of the first It movie. The film takes place in the present day, almost 30 years after the group of friends defeated Pennywise. It will explore some of the crucial themes in the book that the first movie did not have time to explore, like Beverly’s abusive adult relationship.

Bill Skarsgard will be reprising his role as the terrifying shapeshifting clown, Pennywise. He recently discussed returning and said:

“We’re gearing up for it now, so I’m sort of in the process of getting back into that character of Pennywise,” he explained. “I’m sort of in the mindset and we’re gearing up for it.”

“I think [the Losers’ Club cast] start in July. I’m not sure exactly when my start date is, but some time this summer.”

It 2 will be released on September 6th, 2019.
