Shea Whigham has been cast in the next two installments of the Mission: Impossible franchise.
Christopher McQuarrie, director of both Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and Mission: Impossible – Fallout has confirmed that the True Detective star is set to star in the films. McQuarrie revealed the casting Friday tweeting “You won’t see him coming,” along with a photo of the actor.
Franchise veteran Tom Cruise who returns as spy Ethan Hunt, a role he’s played since 1996, will be joined by a number of new cast members including Hayley Atwell and Pom Klementieff.
It is unknown what role Whigham will portray.
