It has been confirmed by Variety that Netflix have cancelled the new comedy series Everything Sucks! after one season.

The series was created and executive produced by Ben York Jones and Michael Mohan. Jeff Pinkner, Scott Rosenberg, Josh Appelbaum, and André Nemec also shared executive producer credits.

It starred Peyton Kennedy, Jahi Winston, Claudine Mboligikpelani Nako, Patch Darragh, Sydney Sweeney, Quinn Liebling, Elijah Stevenson and Rio Mangini.

Everything Sucks! is set in the town of Boring, Oregon in 1996. It is funny, awkward and follows the life of high school misfits as they battle with self-doubt, insecurity and their relationship with their parents. The show was rated a respectable 69% on Rotten Tomatoes and an even more impressive 7.7/10 on IMDB. Fans of the show may consequently be surprised to learn that it has been cancelled.

Pinkner said in a statement:

“We’re super proud of the show we made — and very proud that it found an audience of very passionate fans, for many of whom it became an important personal touchstone: either reflecting their current life, or an echo of their own teenage years. We are grateful to Netflix for the opportunity, but are very disheartened we won’t be continuing to tell these stories.”
