The Witcher: Blood Origin has added Michelle Yeoh to its cast.

Yeoh will star as Scían, the last of her nomadic tribe of sword-elves, who’s skilled with the blade and carries a lot of loss in her heart. After she gets a chance to retrieve a stolen sacred sword taken from her fallen tribe, she takes a dangerous quest that will change the Continent.

The prequel series is set in an elven world 1,200 years before the world of The Witcher. It will tell the story of the creation of the first prototype Witcher and the events leading up to the pivotal “conjunction of the spheres” that resulted in monsters, men, and elves becoming one.

Yeoh is known for her roles in Stark Trek: Discovery, Crazy Rich Asians, Boss Level, Tomorrow Never Dies, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Memories of a Geisha, and Last Christmas. Her upcoming features include Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Gunpowder Milkshake, and multiple Avatar sequels.
