The Batman helmer took to social media Monday to confirm the casting.
Matt Reeves confirmed that actor Colin Farrell is on board the forthcoming superhero pic as Oswald Cobblepot, better known as Penguin. Reeves tweeted a gif of Farrell from the movie In Bruges captioned with: “Wait — is that you, #Oz?” (Oz in case you don’t know, is a shortened form of the DC character’s given name).
Farrell joins Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, who took over the role from Ben Affleck, in addition to Paul Dano as the Riddler, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Peter Sarsgaard in a still unconfirmed role.
The Batman is set to debut on 25 June 2021.
