Mark Hamill will be the voice of the demonic doll in the killer remake.

Multiple outlets confirm that Orion Pictures has tapped Mark Hamill to voice Chucky in the upcoming Child’s Play reboot. Hamill takes over from Brad Dourif who voiced Chucky in the original 1988 film and its six sequels.

“We feel incredibly lucky to have an icon creating a new take on an iconic character,” said executive producer David Katzenberg. “Mark is a gifted actor and celebrated vocal performer, and he’s approached this challenge with incredible energy and commitment.”

Hamill will star alongside Aubrey Plaza, Gabriel Bateman and Brian Tyree Henry. The remake of the 1988 horror classic follows a mother (Plaza) who gives her son (Bateman) a doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.

The remake is helmed by Lars Klevberg from a script by Tyler Burton Smith.

Child’s Play is set to premiere June 21.
