The pope is back.

HBO received much praise for its 2016 miniseries, The Young Pope, so it makes sense that the network would bring us a follow-up.

Entitled The New Pope, the series will once again see Jude Law as the titular character.

The disruptive papal figure will have to contend with a new character played by Marilyn Manson.

The rocker is no stranger to the screen as he has previously starred on both televisions (in Sons of Anarchy) and film (in Let Me Make You a Martyr).

Manson’s Character has been described as similar to his real-life onstage persona.

The news of his starring was confirmed by the 50-year-old singer tweeting a photo from set alongside the caption, “The New Pope is gonna be fantastic. When in Rome.”

Mandi and Law will also be joined by Sharon Stone on the project that will again be helmed by Paolo Sorrentino.

HBO has not yet announced a premiere date.
