Multiple outlets confirm that ABC has put pilot commitment for a drama based on Mandy Moore’s childhood.
90’s Popstar hails from Amanda Lasher. Moore is set to executive produce alongside This Is Us co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.
The drama inspired by Moore’s musical childhood revolves around a family from small-town Florida who must adapt to their extraordinary new reality when their teenage daughter goes from aspiring singer to pop superstar practically overnight, per Deadline.
Moore’s musical career kicked off in 1999 with the release of her first single “Candy” from her debut studio album So Real. She recently received an Emmy nomination for her role as Rebecca Pearson on This Is Us.
