Fans of Lucy Liu were devastated after hearing Elementary is going off the air this year, but the actress already landed lead role in another promising series. She’s attached to upcoming CBS drama Why Women Kill.

This intriguing project follows three women living in three different eras, who have one thing in common – they’re all dealing with infidelity in their marriages. Why Women Kill will be created by Marc Cherry, who explored similar themes in his previous shows Desperate Housewives and Devious Maids.

Three main protagonists will be a housewife in the ‘60s, a socialite in the ‘80s and a lawyer in 2018. Lucy Liu’s character Simone has been described as “picture of urbane confidence”, but her seemingly perfect and fabulous life falls apart after she finds out her husband Karl has been unfaithful.

The rest of the cast is yet to be announced, but we can’t wait to see who joins Liu in the roles of the other two women dealing with betrayal and deception.
