Lucy Hale has just landed her next gig.
The Pretty Little Liars star has been cast as the lead of the CW’s Riverdale spin-off Katy Keene. The spinoff hails from Riverdale creator and executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. TV.
According to Variety, the Archie Comics based spinoff follows the lives of four characters — including fashion legend-to-be Katy Keene — as they chase dreams in New York City. The musical dramedy chronicles the origins and struggles of four aspiring artists trying to make it on Broadway, on the runway and in the recording studio.
Keene’s character is described as a twenty-something New Yorker who aspires to be a fashion designer. When she’s not working as a personal shopper at a luxury department store, she’s navigating friendship and dating in the big city.
The series is penned by exec producer Aguirre-Sacasa along with Michael Grassi. Maggie Kiley will direct the pilot.
