Lord of the Rings Series Gets Season 2 Renewal

Amazon renews its Lord of the Rings series for a second season.

The prequel series, which is currently just starting pre-production, has already been given the go-ahead for season two.

Not much is known of the project, but what is known is that the plot will explore new storylines preceding JRR Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring. The film’s official Twitter account hinted some posting two messages — “One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them, In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie,” and “Welcome to the Second Age.”

Per Variety, the show still hasn’t set its full cast but actors Markella Kavenagh, Will Poulter, and Joseph Mawle, have boarded the project.

Lord of the Rings series hails from writers JD Payne and Patrick McKay with JA Bayona set to direct multiple episodes.
