Janelle Monae is set to headline season 2 of the Amazon drama, Homecoming.
Starring as lead in the first season was Julia Roberts, who initially signed on for one year only. She returns as one of the series’ executive producers.
The Hidden Figures and Moonlight star’s character is described as a tenacious woman who finds herself floating in a canoe, with no memory of how she got there or who she is.
The psychological drama was created by Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail. The first season focused on Heidi Bergman (Roberts), a caseworker at the Homecoming Transitional Support Center, a facility helping soldiers transition back to civilian life.
Homecoming starts shooting later this year.
