Jane Lynch and Cyndi Lauper are going Golden Girls style!

The comedian and the 1980s music icon have joined forces and are set to star in a new comedy series for Netflix.

Lynch confirmed the new to reporters after her win at the Creative Arts Emmys.

“I pitched a show to Netflix and they bought it,” she told reporters after winning the Emmy for guest actress in a comedy. ” I don’t know if I can even tell you, but it’s with Cyndi Lauper, so there! We’ll see.”

“We’re our age, I’m almost 60, she’s 65, and we’re looking for our next act without having had husbands or children,” she added. “There will be two other folks in it who haven’t been cast yet. It’s kind of a Golden Girls for today.”

But this isn’t the first time the project has been teased. The Ellen Show creator, Carol Leifer took to social media in July revealing that she’s indeed developing a new series with the dynamic duo.

“It’s official, heading out next with a new half-hour comedy, starring Jane Lynch and Cyndi Lauper,” she wrote on Facebook. “A writer’s dream to work with these two legends. Can’t wait to see where we land…”
