James Corden is in talks with CBS for a new deal.

The host and executive producer of The Late Late Show is in negotiations on a new multi-year deal with the network. Should both parties come to an agreement, it will keep Corden at the helm of The Late Late Show.

The first time the two signed was in 2014 when he took over as host replacing Craig Ferguson. That deal expires at the end of the 2019-20 season.

According to sources, the two sides have been in talks for quite some time. Variety reports that final terms were still being discussed so there’s no certainty that the deal will close.

CBS took a chance with Corden, the then largely unknown personality from the UK. But that’s history with the show gaining a following and becoming a success with Corden, earning Emmy nominations for an outstanding talk-variety show for the past three years. His Carpool Karaoke segments have taken on a life of its own, going viral and landing a dedicated series for Apple.
