AMC hit dramas Into the Badlands and The Son are coming to an end, the cable network announced Saturday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.

Into the Badlands will air its final eight episodes for Season 3 starting March 24. The show’s second season ended with Bajie in prison. He warned Sunny about not trusting Pilgrim but with his son at risk, Sunny has to make a difficult decision to unlock the Meridian Chamber.

Another TV drama, The Son, will end later in the year after airing its second season starting April 27. The season will pick on where it left, with Eli McCullough set to secure his legacy despite his personal differences with his son in the year 1917.

In another timeline, Eli is happily married in the year 1851 and works as a warrior among the Comanches. Meanwhile in 1988, Eli’s granddaughter Jeanne Anne McCullough learns of a deeply buried family secret.

Reports about the two shows getting cancelled started circulating last year after all contracted actors were released. The shows had been renewed two years ago and were expected to draw respectable viewership numbers and ratings. They both had decent amounts of viewers but they were costly to produce and their ratings were simply average.
