Elisabeth Moss in "The Handmaid’s Tale"

Hulu finally decided to give us a better look at season three of their popular dystopian series The Handmaid’s Tale. Previously, the streamer presented a short teaser during a Super Bowl, but now we have an official first trailer for the show’s third season to dissect.

The clip showcases the resistance movement in the making with Offred/June (Elisabeth Moss) leading the charge. In order to start a revolution, however, she will need to make allies and turns to Nick (Max Minghella) and Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) for help.

“If I’m going to change things, I need allies,” June says in a voiceover in the trailer. “Allies with power.”

The Handmaid’s Tale returns to Hulu for season three on June 5th. You can check out the trailer below.

Based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name, The Handmaid’s Tale premiered in 2017 on Hulu. The series takes place in a dystopian future after the Second American Civil War, and tells the story about a totalitarian regime which subjects fertile women, called Handmaids, into “child-bearing servitude.”

The series received critical acclaim since its premiere with season one winning eight Primetime Emmy Awards out of 13 nominations. It also became the first streaming-service produced series to win a Golden Globe award.
