Harry Potter’s Ralph Fiennes Reveals a Secret About You Know Who’s Wand

Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort in "Harry Potter"

There are many magical mysteries in the Harry Potter franchise but one of the more subtle riddles is the question of Voldermort’s wand.

In duels, Voldermort actor Ralph Fiennes holds the wand with practically no grip and it looks as if the wand should 100% fall out of his hand. As it turns out, the wand was actually designed so that he could use it in this awesome way.

“With Stuart Craig, who’s the production designer, and his team, we discussed what the wand would be,” Fiennes told GQ.

“It has a hook on it, so I can hold my hand, and then the end can hook around this finger. Like I almost have the hand open… you’d think it would fall off the hand. But I just enjoyed that it could be light in the hand.”

He also revealed his favorite scene in the series and said: “I loved shooting the death duel, that was cool, with Daniel [Radcliffe] in the courtyard – that was epic.”

It has been 18 years since the first Harry Potter film came out but little by little, we are unraveling the mysteries of the franchise.
