Peter Farrelly knows what he’ll be directing next.

The Green Book helmer will direct and adapt a dramedy based on the true story of “Chickie,” who in 1967 left New York to track down and share a few beers with his childhood buddies in the Army… while they were fighting in Vietnam.

Currently titled The Greatest Beer Run Ever (working title), will be adapted from Joanna Molloy and John “Chickie” Donohue’s book The Greatest Beer Run Ever: A True Story of Friendship Stronger Than War.

The Oscar-winning director is set to co-write the script with his Green Book co-scribes Brian Currie and Pete Jones. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, and Andrew Muscato are producing. Skydance’s Don Granger will oversee the project.

Green Book was nominated for five Academy Awards and won three, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Mahershala Ali. It also won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture and Best Screenplay.
