Gotham Awards: “Marriage Story” Wins Best Feature

Marriage Story sweeps the top prize at the Gotham Awards. 

The Gotham Independent Film Awards were handed out Monday night, where Marriage Story won all four awards it was nominated for.

The Netflix drama about a painful divorce between a loving Hollywood couple stars Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver. In addition to taking home the best feature title, the film also won best actor for Driver, best screenplay for Noah Baumbach, and the audience award. 

The Farewell went into the evening with three nominations, taking home best actress honors for Awkwafina.

“Holy s**t!” she said. “Oh my god, I didn’t write anything and they were like, ‘You should write something!’ Oh my god. I never won anything. I can’t even win an argument in the Instagram comments.”
