Gillian Anderson Joins “The Crown” Season 4

Gillian Anderson has been cast to play the former British Prime Minister in the fourth season of The Crown

The new was announced via the show’s official social media accounts Sunday. 

“I am so excited to be joining the cast and crew of ‘The Crown’ and to have the opportunity to portray such a complicated and controversial woman,” Anderson said. “Thatcher was undoubtedly formidable but I am relishing exploring beneath the surface and dare I say, falling in love with the icon who, whether loved or despised, defined an era.”

Anderson joins the latest to be cast in the acclaimed Netflix drama, Emma Corrin will play Lady Diana Spencer, the first wife of Prince Charles.

Season 4 is currently in production.

The Crown season 3 will premiere November 17 on Netflix.
