The Fallen franchise star has been cast in the action thriller The Plane.
Gerard Butler has just landed his next gig and is set to star in an action film based on the book Violence of Action by Charles Cumming.
Cumming is penning the script alongside J.P. Davis.
Per Deadline, Butler will star as commercial pilot Ray Torrance, who after a heroic job of successfully landing his storm-damaged aircraft in a war zone, finds himself caught between the agendas of multiple militia who are planning to take the plane and its passengers’ hostage.
Di Bonaventura’s Lorenzo di Bonvaventura and Mark Vahradian, MadRiver’s Marc Butan and Ara Keshishian will produce the film.
Butler is fresh off the third installment in the Fallen franchise, Angel Has Fallen, which earned $133m world wide.
