Frank Grillo Joins “Hitman’s Bodyguard” Sequel

Variety confirms that Frank Grillo has joined the sequel to The Hitman’s Bodyguard.

The sequel, titled The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, stars Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson as leads.

The Captain America star will portray an Interpol agent who recruits Bryce (Reynolds), Kincaid (Jackson) and Sonia (Salma Hayek) to help stop a cyber attack. The story is set in the Amalfi Coast, a stretch of coastline in southern Italy.

The original film’s director, Australian filmmaker Patrick Hughes also returns for the sequel, directing from a script written by Tom O’Connor.

The 2017 original grossed $75.5 million in the US and more than $176 million globally.

The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard began filming on March 2. There is no official release date for the film yet.
