Strictly Come Dancing has announced Katie Piper as the new season’s first contestant.
Philanthropist, TV presenter and former model Katie Piper will be the first celebrity taking the dance floor in fall 2018’s edition of the show.
The announcement was made on BBC Breakfast Monday morning.
“I’ve known for a while and it’s been really hard to keep it a secret,” Katie said.
“I feel so privileged and excited to be part of my favorite show on TV. I already know how much of an amazing experience it will be for me and I can’t wait to show my girls some of my new dance moves,” she added.
“I’m nervous to put on my dancing shoes but can’t wait to learn a new skill and have the Strictly tan and makeover!”
Three new professional dancers have been added to the show this year: Graziano Di Prima, Johannes Radebe and Luba Mushtuk. The show will be hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
The next announcement will be made tonight on the One Show. The show will return to BBC One this fall.
