Elizabeth Banks to Direct, and Star in “Invisible Woman”

Elizabeth Banks has just landed her next major gig. 

The Charlie’s Angels helmer has set her next directorial project — The Invisible Woman for Universal Pictures. 

Per Variety, the feature is based on Banks’ own original pitch. She also penned the script with The Girl on the Train scribe Erin Cressida and will produce with Max Handelman producing for their Brownstone Productions. Alison Small will executive-produce.

The Invisible Woman is not be confused with The Invisible Man from director Leigh Whannell, which stars Elisabeth Moss and Oliver Jackson-Cohen. 

While plot details are being kept under wraps, a 1940 The Invisible Woman sci-fi comedy, centered on a model who agrees to be a guinea pig for an experiment involving an invisibility machine.
