Eddie Murphy to Receive Lifetime Achievement Honor at Critics’ Choice Awards

Eddie Murphy’s career is finally getting the recognition it deserves. 

News that Murphy will be award the Lifetime Achievement Award at the forthcoming 25th annual Critics’ Choice Awards was announced by the Critics Choice Association on Monday. 

The actor has starred in extraordinary roles over the years. Most recently he portrayed Rudy Ray Moore in Netflix’s Dolemite Is My Name. That role earned Murphy Best Actor Critics’ Choice Awards and the 77th Golden Globes nods. He also recently made his return to the comedy skit show Saturday Night Live as host. His return to the show as host after a 35 year hiatus earned SNL its highest ratings in two years.

His other feature credits include the timeless comedy classics Trading Places, Beverly Hills Cop, and Coming to America. According to Entertainment Tonight Murphy’s films have over $6 billion at the box office.
