Disney isn’t joking around with their upcoming streaming service. According to Variety, the studio is currently working on television series based on several Marvel comic superheroes including Loki and Scarlet Witch. They will be exclusively available on Disney streaming service, which is set to launch at some point in 2019.

What will make these Marvel-based TV shows different compared to the ones that Netflix makes is the fact that the actors who portrayed the characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will reprise their roles in the television series as well. For example, Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen will return to their roles of Loki and Scarlet Witch in these streaming shows as well.

Each of the series is expected to have a significantly larger budget than the previous series based on Marvel characters, and it is planned that they have six to eight episodes. Marvel Studios will be producing the shows, while the studio’s president Kevin Feige is expected to be heavily involved in the development.

Marvel and Disney are still keeping everything under wraps, so some further information regarding the start of production, writers or cast is yet to be revealed. But one thing is for sure; if everything turns out as planned, Disney streaming service will strike gold with these projects.
