DC President Teases “Wonder Woman 2”

The Wonder Woman team have revealed a clue for the upcoming sequel.

The sequel is not due to be released for another year, but DC Entertainment president and producer Geoff Johns has shared a teaser on Facebook.

The picture he shared is of the text “WW84” printed in flickering letters over a black background. No caption was given.

It has been hinted that the film will take place in the 1980s and will feature a Cold War narrative. The recent picture update seems to confirm that the movie will take place in ’84.

In other news, Kristen Wiig has been confirmed as the villain of the movie, Cheetah. Patty Jenkins, the director, shared on her Twitter:

“So excited to confirm the most thrilling news. Yes! It’s true. So incredibly lucky to welcome the sensationally talented Kristen Wiig to our Wonder Woman family. Can’t wait to finally work with one of my favorites. And SO excited by what we have planned.”

Jenkins, has also teased information about the upcoming movie. In an interview with Variety’s Playback, Jenkins said the second movie will feature another “great love story.”

“I did very much thematically want to get to love – because that’s what she stands for – and the complexity of what we’re facing,” she said of the first film. “These were big themes, like [Wonder Woman] stands for love and truth, which is particularly important right now.”

Wonder Woman 2 is set to be released on November 1st, 2019.
