Dave Bautista’s “My Spy” Has Been Pushed Back to 2020

Dave Bautista and Chloe Coleman in "My Spy"

The action-comedy “My Spy” starring Dave Bautista has been pushed back to a 2020 release date.

Since appearing as Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, Dave Bautista has been very much on the radar. His performance in MCU has been hilarious so far and when he threatened to leave following James Gunn’s firing, fans also claimed they would not be interested in watching the third installment.

My Spy stars Bautista as a CIA operative. The movie was due to be released August 23 this year, but has been pushed back to the first quarter of 2020. The reason reported is that the producers want to leave some time between the film’s release and the comedy “Stuber,” which also stars Bautista.

The official synopsis of My Spy reads: “Nine-year-old Sophie catches JJ, a hardened CIA operative, spying on her family during a routine surveillance operation. In exchange for not blowing his cover, JJ begrudgingly agrees to show the precocious girl how to become a spy. What at first seems like an easy task soon turns into a battle of wits as Sophie proves you don’t need much experience to outsmart a seasoned agent.”

We will confirm the new release date when it’s announced.
