Dave Bautista Confirms Drax the Destroyer Will Return in “Avengers 4” and “Guardians of the Galaxy 3”

Avengers: Infinity War saw many fan-favorite Marvel characters turning to dust by the hand of Thanos. But this doesn’t mean the end for some of them, including the character of Drax the Destroyer, who was disintegrated alongside his fellow Guardians of the Galaxy – Star-Lord, Groot, and Mantis. Dave Bautista, who portrays the Drax in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, recently told Collider that his character will come back in both Avengers: Infinity War sequel and Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

“I got a lot of texts saying ‘I can’t believe you’re dead, your character is dead,'” said Bautista. “They were really like heartbroken, and I was like ‘I’m gonna be in four. I’m gonna be in Guardians 3.’ I don’t know how they’re bringing me back, yeah but somehow I’m going to make it because, as far as I know, I am going to be in Guardians 3, so I have to be back.”

Bautista also revealed that he filmed all of his scenes for Avengers 4, but didn’t want to give out the way Drax the Destroyer will be brought back.

“That’s the only reason I’m not so concerned about giving any spoilers or giving anything away that Marvel would be mad because I said before, before the film even came out, that I’ve already filmed three and four, so I hope they won’t be pissed!” said the 49-year-old wrestler-turned-actor. “And if they are, I’m gonna get an earful. I don’t know how they’re gonna put this all together. I don’t know how its gonna pan out and how it’s all going to turn out.”

Drax the Destroyer will likely be joined by other high profile Marvel superheroes in finding the way back from the dead in Avengers 4. There have been many speculations and theories on the internet which include a parallel universe, the Soul Stone, and even time travel, but no one exactly knows. The chances are that we won’t find out before Avengers 4 premieres on May 3rd, 2019.
