If you wanted to see more of John Wick’s rival Cassian in John Wick 3, we have some bad news for you. Common, actor and musician who portrayed the character in John Wick: Chapter 2, recently confirmed that he won’t reprise his role in the sequel.
Common recently spoke with Coming Soon and said he won’t be in John Wick 3 but promised that the movie would be “incredible.”
“I’m not in the third part, but I could say that I really loved being a part of John Wick 2 and it was an amazing experience,” said the 46 year old.
“Working with Keanu (Reeves) and (director) Chad (Stahelski), they’re just phenomenal. Challenged and really passionate about the stuff. I can say that John Wick 3 is going to be incredible, though, I’ll tell you that much.”
Since Cassian’s story arc was left unfinished in the previous movie, the fans were expecting to see him in John Wick 3 and find more about this interesting character. Unfortunately, that won’t be the case, but maybe he will get his own spinoff movie or something like that.
John Wick 3, now titled Parabellum, began filming in May in various locations including New York, Spain, and Morocco. The movie will see John Wick trying to survive after a $14 million bounty was put on his head. The film’s release is scheduled for May 17th, 2019.
